I treasure every first birthday photo shoot i prepare, every single one of them is designed per my clients ideas or themes for their babies first birthday party. In this case we planned an outdoor country whimsical theme. Mom wanted flowers and lace dresses but also with a rustic touch of barn and country. I made a floral teepee  and brought some wooden crates and gave it a cute touch of girlie with some lit letters and a princess crown.

Your little one will only be the big One once so its always a great idea to capture them at this age so you can always remember the shy smiles, the clapping and the sweet giggles!

We continued the rustic whimsical country theme adding mason jars with fireflies a vintage quilt and a gorgeous rustic cake stand. Mom added a sweet touch of roses to the cake to give it a girly touch.

I love the detail shots from cake smashes, these types of sessions yield so many photos they can actually make for some amazing albums to gift the family.
